MERCHANT SHIPPING (DEEP PANUKE GAS PRODUCTION PLATFORM) (EXEMPTION) ORDER 2010

The Minister responsible for Maritime Administration, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Merchant Shipping Act 2002, makes the following Order:
Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Deep Panuke Gas Production Platform) (Exemption) Order 2010.
Exempted Gas Production Platform from certain provisions and regulations
2 The drill rig known as the “Deep Panuke”, which will operate in an area approximately 173 km offshore of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, in the vicinity of and to the west south west of Sable Island, is exempt from the following provisions of the Act and regulations made thereunder—
(a) sections 26 and 33 of Part IV (relating to tonnage measurement);
(b) Part V (Masters and Seamen);
(c) Part VI (Safety)
(d) Part VII (Prevention of Pollution);
(e) Part VIII (Liability of Ship-owners);
(f) Part IX (Salvage and Wreck);
(g) Merchant Shipping (Load Line) Regulations 1998;
(h) Merchant Shipping (Tonnage) Regulations 2008; and
MERCHANT SHIPPING (DEEP PANUKE GAS PRODUCTION PLATFORM) (EXEMPTION) ORDER 2010
(i) Merchant Shipping (Registration of Ships) Regulations 2003, section 19 (relating to the survey and measurement of a ship).
Duration of Order
3 This Order ceases to be in force on a day to be fixed by the Minister responsible for Maritime Operations by Order in the Official Gazette.
Commencement
4 This Order shall come into operation on the date that it appears in the Official Gazette.
