MINISTERS (CHANGE OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND STYLE) ORDER 2024

The Premier, in exercise of the power conferred by section 1 of the Ministers (Change of Responsibilities and Style) Act 1974, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Ministers (Change of Responsibilities and Style) Order 2024.

Amends the Criminal Code Act 1907

2 The Table of Increased Penalty Zones provided for in section 322A of the Criminal Code Act 1907 is amended as follows—

(a) in paragraph 1(b)(iii) by deleting “the Department of Youth Development, Sport and Recreation” and substituting “the Department of Sport and Recreation”;

(b) in paragraph 2 in the definition of “youth centre” by deleting “the Department of Youth Development, Sport and Recreation” and substituting “the Youth Affairs section within the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors”.

Amends the Misuse of Drugs Act 1972

3 Schedule 4 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1972 is amended as follows—

(a) in paragraph 1(b)(ii) by deleting “the Department of Youth Development, Sport and Recreation” and substituting “the Department of Sport and Recreation”;

(b) in paragraph 2 in the definition of “youth centre” by deleting “the Department of Youth Development, Sport and Recreation” and

substituting “the Youth Affairs section within the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors”.

Amends the Sports, Camping and Recreational Areas Act 1977

4 Section 1 of the Sports, Camping and Recreational Areas Act 1977 is amended as follows—

(a) in the definition of “the Department” by deleting “Youth and Sport” and substituting “Sport and Recreation”;

(b) in the definition of “the Minister” by deleting “responsible for Youth and Sport” and substituting “responsible for sport”.

5. Amends the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986

(1) Section 2 of the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986 is amended in the definition of “Department” by deleting “responsible for youth, sport and recreation” and substituting “responsible for sport and recreation”.

(2) Section 7(c) of the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986 is amended by deleting “responsible for youth, sport and recreation” and substituting “responsible for sport and recreation”.

(3) Section 7A of the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986 is amended by deleting “responsible for youth, sport and recreation” and substituting “responsible for sport and recreation”.
