1. Minister may dredge bays and anchorages listed in Schedule
(1) Subject to the appropriation by the Legislature, from time to time, of the requisite funds, the Minister responsible for marine and ports services (hereinafter referred to as “the Minister”) is hereby authorized to dredge the bays and anchorages mentioned in the Schedule:
(2) The several dredging works authorized by subsection (1) shall be carried out in such order as the Minister may from time to time determine having regard to engineering difficulties and economy. [Section 1 subsection (1) amended by BR 5 / 2011 para. 5 effective 25 February 2011]
Notice to remove boats and moorings for dredging
2 The Director of Marine and Ports Services, if in his opinion the presence of any boat or moorings in a bay or anchorage to be dredged under the authority of this Act is likely to impede the work of dredging, may, by notice in writing, require the owner or person in charge of the boat or moorings to remove the same within the time specified in the notice, and if the owner or person in charge fails to comply with the requirement the Director of Marine and Ports Services may cause the boat or moorings to be removed; and any expenses incurred in the removal may be recovered from the owner or person in charge by the Minister before a court of summary jurisdiction in the manner prescribed by the Magistrates Act 1948 [title 8 item 15], for the recovery of a debt or liquidated demand.

(a) The Foot of the Lane;
(b) Boss’s Cove;
(c) Jew’s Bay;
(d) Riddell’s Bay;
(e) Mills Creek;
(f) Fairylands Creek;
(g) Flatts Inlet;
(h) Hungry Bay;
(i) Devonshire Dock;
(j) Bailey’s Bay;
(k) Burchall’s Cove.
