PARKING OF VEHICLES (DESIGNATED AREAS) ORDERS 1973 - 1984

BX 2 / 1973

[made under section 2 of the Parking of Vehicles (Designated Areas) Act 1973 and brought into operation on various dates as follows— para 1 - 24th November, 1973, 9th November, 1974 para 2 - 11th December, 1981 paras 3-8 - 9th November, 1974 para 9 13th December, 1975, 9th October, 1984 para 10 19th August, 1977 para 11 23rd March, 1978]

The following areas of land vested in the Government are declared to be designated areas, The following persons are declared to be the appropriate authority in respect of each area so designated.

1 The precincts of the House of Assembly, that is to say all the grounds bounded northerly by Church Street, easterly by Court Street, southerly by Reid Street and westerly by Parliament Street. The Speaker of the House of Assembly.

2 The area known as the Post Office Yard, that is to say the grounds and precincts to the rear of, and partially under, the General Post Office Building and the Government Administration Building in the City of Hamilton. The Permanent Secretary for the Department of Works and Engineering.

3 The precincts of the offices of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, that is to say the grounds bounded northerly by the lands of the property known as “Abbotsford”, easterly by the Old King Edward VII Memorial Hospital building, southerly by the access

road to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and westerly by Point Finger Road in the Parish of Paget. The Permanent Secretary for Health and Social Services.

4 The roads and parking area of the offices of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, that it to say the roads and precincts bounded northerly by the grounds of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, southerly and easterly by the offices of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and westerly by the access road of the Botanical Gardens leading easterly and then southerly from Point finger Road in the Parish of Paget. The Director of Agriculture and Fisheries.

5 The grounds of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, that is to say the grounds and precincts surrounding the Hospital, bounded northerly by Berry Hill Road, southerly and easterly by the grounds of the Botanical Gardens and westerly by the Old King Edward VII Memorial Hospital building and by Point Finger Road in the Parish of Paget. The Executive Director of the Bermuda Hospitals Board.

6 The forecourt of the Flatts Aquarium and Museum, that is to say the grounds and precincts bounded southerly by North Shore Road and northerly, easterly and westerly by the offices and buildings of the Flatts Aquarium in the Parish of Hamilton. The Director of Agriculture and Fisheries.

7 The car parking area serving the Flatts Aquarium and Museum, that is to say the grounds bounded northerly by North Shore Road, westerly by the grounds of “Shorelands” and southerly and easterly by the waters of Flatts Inlet in the Parish of Hamilton. The Director of Agriculture and Fisheries.

8 The grounds and precincts of the Civil Air Terminal (Bermuda Airport), that is to say that part of the airfield in St. George’s Parish designated by the Government of the United States of America for use by civil aircraft and any other land around or leased by the Government of Bermuda and used for the purposes of civil aviation, and all land to which access is gained by means of the easterly exit from the Civil Air Terminal roundabout in the Parish of St. George. 9 The precincts of the Old Fire Station in the City of Hamilton, that is to say, the grounds bounded northerly by the offices of the Department of Youth and Sport, westerly by Court Street, southerly by the offices of the Department of Tourism and easterly by the offices of the Department of Community Services. The Secretary to the Cabinet.

10 The Botanical Gardens in Paget Parish, that is to say the land bounded northerly by the grounds of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, the road known as Berry Hill Road and certain private properties; easterly by certain private properties; southerly by the road known as the South Shore Road and certain private properties and westerly by the road known as Point Finger Road and certain private properties, as the same is more particularly delineated on Ordnance survey sheets number 3/16, 3/19 and 3/20, which survey sheets may be viewed at any time during normal business hours at the offices of the Public Works Department in the City of Hamilton. The Director of Agriculture and Fisheries.

11 The precincts of the Cabinet Building, in the City of Hamilton, that is to say, the land bounded northerly by Reid Street, southerly by Front Street, easterly by Court Street and westerly by Parliament Street. The Secretary to the Cabinet.
