PRISONER'S PAYMENT FOR WORK IN PRISON ORDER 1980

[made under section 7(2) of the Prisons Act 1979 [title 10 item 32] and brought into operation on 11 July 1980]

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Prisoner's Payment for Work in Prison Order 1980.

Rates payable

2 Subject to the Prison Rules 1980 prisoners shall be paid for work performed at the following rates —

(a) a prisoner—

(i) serving a term of imprisonment for life; or

(ii) [deleted by 2001:29]

(iii) detained during Her Majesty's pleasure—

(aa) $1.50 for eight hours of work performed in any one day;

(bb) $0.75 for four hours of work performed in any one day;

(b) all other prisoners —

(i) $1.00 for eight hours of work performed in any one day; and

(ii) $0.50 for four hours of work performed in any one day.
