PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS REGISTRATION REGULATIONS
[made under section 12 of the Professional Engineers Act 1972 [title 30 item 16] and brought into operation on 1 October 1972]

Citation
1 These regulations may be cited as the Professional Engineers Registration Regulations 1972.
Interpretation
2 In these Regulations— "the Act" means the Professional Engineers Registration Act
1972 [title 30 item 16];

"the Council" means the Professional Engineers Registration Council established under section 3 of the Act; "the Register" means the register of Professional Engineers maintained by the Registrar General under section 5 of the Act.
3. Application for registration and fees
(1) Application by a person to be registered under the Act shall be made to the Registrar General in Form A in the Schedule.
(2) There shall be payable in respect of an application by a person to be registered under the Act—
(a) on application, a fee of $15.00; and
(b) on registration, a fee of $25.00.
4. Documents in support
(1) At the request of the Council an applicant shall forward to the Registrar General the originals of all engineering diplomas awarded to the applicant, or copies of such engineering diplomas certified as true copies by or on behalf of the authorities by which the original engineering diplomas were respectively awarded.
(2) In the Regulations "engineering diploma" means any diploma, degree, fellowship, membership, licence, authority to practise, letters, testimonial, certificate or other status or document granted in respect of engineering, or in respect of a branch of engineering by any university, corporation, college or other body, or by any department of, or body of persons acting under, the authority of the government of any country or place whether within or without Her Majesty's dominions.

5 Where, in pursuance of section 5(1) of the Act, the name and professional qualifications of an applicant for registration under the Act are to be entered in the Register, there shall, together with such particulars, be entered the following particulars—
(a) the professional address of the applicant;
(b) the date of award of each professional qualification of the applicant;
(c) the date of the entry of the name and particulars of the applicant in the Register.

6 A certificate of registration shall be in Form B in the Schedule.

Additional particulars may be entered
7 Application by a registered engineer to have particulars of any engineering degree, engineering diploma or other engineering qualification entered in the Register in pursuance of section 5(3)(b) of the Act shall be made to the Registrar General in Form C in the Schedule.

8 Any application, notice or other document which is required or authorised under the Act to be made or given to, or served on, any person may be made, given or served—
(a) by delivering it to that person; or
(b) in the case of the Registrar General or the Council, by leaving it or sending it in a pre-paid letter addressed to the Registrar General or, as the case may be, the Chairman of the Professional Engineers Registration Council; or
(c) in the case of any other person, by leaving it or sending it in a pre-paid letter addressed to him at his usual or last business residence.

PART C — refers to the professional requirements for registration
and since these may be satisfied in any of three ways specified under sections 4 (1) (a) , 4 (1) (b) or 4 (1) (c) of the Act, three separate forms C

(1), C (2) and C (3) are provided of which the applicant shall complete only that one appropriate to his own case. Form C (1): Entrance under Section 4 (1) (a) of the Act is applicable to candidates who are corporate members of one or more of the member institutions of the Council of Engineering Institutions of the United Kingdom. Form C (2): Applies to applicants who are recognised as Professional Engineers by the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers. Form C (3): To be completed by candidates for whom Forms C (1) and C (2) are not applicable. B — Personal Particulars to be furnished by Applicant
