ST. GEORGE (CORPORATION LANDS) ORDINANCE 1974

[made under section 38 of the Municipalities Act 1923 [title 4 item 1] and brought into operation on 11 December 1974]

Citation

1 This Ordinance may be cited as the St. George (Corporation Lands) Ordinance 1974.

Interpretation

2 In this Ordinance "Corporation land" means:—

(a) all of the Somers Gardens land;

(b) all of the land comprising the Old Government Park;

(c) all of the land comprising Ordnance Island;

(d) all of the land comprising Pennos Wharf and Market Wharf;

(e) all of the land comprising Tiger Bay Gardens;

(f) all of the land comprising Tobacco Bay;

(g) all of the land comprising Baxters Bay;

(h) all of the land comprising King's Square or King's Parade;

(i) all of the land comprising Parking Lot, East of Market Wharf;

(j) the two Corporation Properties east of the Town Hall.

Offences on Corporation land

3 Any person who, on any Corporation land:—

(a) gambles or plays at any game of chance;

(b) drinks any intoxicating liquor;

(c) throws away any receptacle which contains or contained any intoxicating liquor or other beverage, or any paper or trash;

(d) openly exposes his person;

(e) is found drunk and appears incapable of taking care of himself;

(f) is guilty of riotous, offensive or indecent behaviour;

(g) solicits or importunes for immoral purposes; or

(h) loiters without authority or reasonable excuse, commits an offence against this Ordinance, and shall be liable to prosecution for an offence against the Municipalities Act 1923 [title 1 item 1].
