SUBMARINE COMMUNICATIONS CABLES (REGULATORY AUTHORITY FEES) REGULATIONS 2021

The Minister responsible for telecommunications, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14, 33, 45, 58 and 65 of the Submarine Communications Cables Act 2020, as read with section 44 of the Regulatory Authority Act 2011, makes the following Regulations:

Citation

1 These Regulations may be cited as the Submarine Communications Cables (Regulatory Authority Fees) Regulations 2021.

2. Schedule of fees payable

(1) In respect of each item specified in the Schedule, there shall be paid the fee specified in relation to such item.

(2) A fee payable under paragraph (1) shall be payable to the Regulatory Authority.

SUBMARINE COMMUNICATIONS CABLES (REGULATORY AUTHORITY FEES) REGULATIONS 2021

SCHEDULE

(regulation 2) FEES PAYABLE

(1) Service fee for installation permit application. $1,000.00 Applies, under section 33 of the Submarine Communications Cables Act 2020, to an application to install new submarine cables and, under section 45 of the Submarine Communications Cables Act 2020, to an application for an extension of the permit.

(2) Service fee for licence application. $1,000.00 Applies, under section 14 read with section 58 of the Submarine Communications Cables Act 2020, to an application for a licence to operate new submarine cables.

(3) Annual fee for licence under section 65 of the Submarine $30,000.00 Communications Cables Act 2020. (Fee to be paid on issuance of the licence and, thereafter, on or before the 31st day of January of every year. Fee paid on issuance of the licence is to be prorated.)
