AUXILIARY BICYCLES (EMISSIONS STANDARDS) ORDER

The Minister of Toursim and Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17A(2)(a) of the Auxiliary Bicycles Act 1954, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Auxiliary Bicycles (Emissions Standards) Order 2004.

Approval of emissions standards

2 The following emissions standards are hereby approved, that is to say, the emissions standards in respect of auxiliary bicycles set from time to time—

(a) by the Automobile Standards Internationalization Center of Japan and contained in articles 31, 31-2 and 58 of the Ministry of Transport Ordinance No. 67 of 1951 as may be from time to time amended;

(b) by the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States and contained in—

(i) the Clean Air Act 42 U.S.C. 7041 et. Seq.; and

(ii) title 40 and Parts 86 and 88 to 90 of the Code of Federal Regulations,

as may be from time to time amended; and

(c) by the European Council and contained in European Council Directive 97/24/EC of 17 June 1997, Official Journal of the European Communities L226/1 of 18 August 1997, as may be from time to time amended.
