WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION (MEDICAL AID) REGULATIONS

[made under sections 36 and 38 of the Workmen's Compensation Act 1965 [title 18 item 3] and brought into operation on 1 March 1977]

Hospital treatment

1 The fees and charges for medical aid to workmen in respect of hospital treatment at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital shall be in accordance with the prevailing public ward scale prescribed by the Bermuda Hospitals Board.

Medical treatment

2 The fees and charges for medical aid to workmen in respect of treatment by a medical practitioner shall be in accordance with the prevailing scale of medical fees of the Bermuda Medical Council approved by the Minister for the purposes of these Regulations.

Saving for private and semi-private treatment

3 Where a workman elects to receive private or semi-private treatment, nothing in these Regulations or in section 34 of the Workmen's Compensation Act 1965 [title 18 item 3] shall preclude the

Bermuda Hospitals Board or any concerned medical practitioner from recovering from such workman any fees or charges in respect of that hospital or medical treatment at the prevailing scale for private or, as the case may be, semi-private treatment.
