QUOFATAFERUNT BERMUDA MERCHANT SHIPPING (FEES) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2026 BR 26 / 2026 The Minister responsible for maritime administration, in exercise of the power conferred by section 250 of the Merchant Shipping Act 2002, makes the following Regulations: Citation

1 These Regulations, which amend the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 2023 (the “principal Regulations”), may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2026. Amends the Schedule

2 The Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended—

(a) in Part 1, paragraph 3 by—

(i) deleting the “and” after subparagraph (k);

(ii) deleting the full-stop and substituting a semi-colon after subparagraph (l);

(iii) inserting the following after subparagraph (l)— “(m) the consideration of an application for the approval or recognition of seafarer training and education courses and any subsequent audits for the purpose of seeing whether or not the statutory requirements have been complied with.”;

(b) in Part 3, by inserting after paragraph 22 the following— “ 22A For issue of a seaman’s medical certificate $11.00 ”; 1 MERCHANT SHIPPING (FEES) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2026

(c) in Part 3, by deleting the heading titled “Fees for Radio Licences & The Approved Container Examination Programme (ACEP)” and substituting the following heading— “ FEES FOR RADIO LICENCES, THE APPROVED CONTAINER EXAMINATION PROGRAMME (ACEP) & APPROVED SEAFARER MEDICAL EXAMINATION PROGRAMME (SMEP) ”;

(d) In Part 3, by inserting after paragraph 36 the following— “ 37 Initial fee for approval of Approved Seafarer Medical $6,000.00 Examination Programme (SMEP)

38 Annual fee for administration of Approved Seafarer $27,500.00 Medical Examination Programme ”. Commencement

3 These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2026. Made this 30th day of March 2026 Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture and Sport [Operative Date: 01 April 2026]
