BR 29 /2026 ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1947 ROAD TRAFFIC (MOHAWK GRAND PRIX BICYCLE, GO KART AND MOTOR GO KART ROAD RACE) ORDER 2026 The Minister responsible for works and engineering in exercise of the power conferred by section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 1947, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Mohawk Grand Prix Bicycle, Go Kart and Motor Go Kart
2. Road Race) Order 2026.
(the “bicycle and kart race”) on the roadways of St. David’s to be held on Friday, 3rd April 2026.
3. The bicycle and kart races will follow the route specified below.
4. The Commissioner of Police is hereby authorized to close roads or portions of roads and authorize parking
as the Commissioner of Police decides in the interests of public safety. RACE ROUTE: Bicycle participants, Go Kart participants and Motor Go Kart participants will commence on Mount Road, at the St. David’s Lighthouse near the turnaround area, then travel in a northerly direction to St. Luke’s Lane, turn left onto St. Luke’s Lane then travel in a westerly direction towards Texas Road, then turn right onto Texas Road and travel in a north easterly direction towards Great Bay Road, then turn right onto Great Bay Road, then travel in an easterly direction along Great Bay Road to the St. David’s Cricket Club entrance and end the race. TRAFFIC CONTROL: The races will commence on Friday, 3rd April 2026, at 4:00 pm and are expected to conclude by 5:30 pm. All motorists are required to use caution and avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under police and race official control. Motorists are required to follow race official’s instructions to assist with traffic control for this event. ROADS CLOSED: The following roads will be closed to motorists: Mount Road, St. Luke’s Lane, Texas Road, and Great Bay Road. Other vehicles must allow participants to use these roads and give way when directed by police and race officials. PARKING: There will be parking restrictions on the roads closed to motorist mentioned above for these races. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in these races. RESIDENCE ACCESS: While these races take place the residents will have limited access to their property. The residents must rely on race officials to grant access to their property. Use caution to avoid any collision with any race participant when entering the closed roadways. Made this 2nd day of April 2026 By Order _______________________________________________ The Hon.
