BR 54 / 2026 ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1947 ROAD TRAFFIC (BERMUDA BICYCLE ASSOCIATION WINNERS EDGE TIME TRIAL BICYCLE ROAD RACE) ORDER 2026 The Minister responsible for works and engineering, in exercise of the power conferred by section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 1947, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Bermuda Bicycle Association Winners Edge
2. Time Trial Bicycle Road Race) Order 2026.
Bicycle Road Race (the “bicycle race”) on the Ministry of Public Works and Environment roads, to be held on Sunday, 17th May 2026.
3. The bicycle race will follow the route specified below.
4. The Commissioner of Police is hereby authorized to close roads or portions of roads and
authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides in the interests of public safety. RACE ROUTE: The time trial for the 11-14 year old category commences and finishes on South Road at Stonington Avenue in Paget Parish. The participants travel west along South Road through Warwick Parish to the Junction of Horseshoe Road and South Road in Southampton parish and then turn around to travel east back to finish at Stonington Avenue in Paget Parish. The time trial for the other categories commences and finishes on South Road at Stonington Avenue. The participants travel West to Church Bay Park in Southampton Parish. There they will enter the Park from the eastern entrance opposite Church Road and exit the Park at the western driveway turning back onto South Road travelling east back to finish at Stonington Avenue in Paget Parish. TRAFFIC CONTROL: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, 17 May 2026 at 7:30am and is expected to conclude by 9:00am. All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under the control of the police and race officials. Motorists must follow instructions from race officials to assist with traffic control for this event. ROADS CLOSED: There will be no roads closed to traffic while the bicycle race takes place. PARKING: There will be no parking restrictions in place for the bicycle race, with motorists permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race. Made this 13th day of May 2026 By Order _______________________________________________ The Hon.
