BR 56 / 2026 ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1947 ROAD TRAFFIC (SINCLAIR PACKWOOD MEMORIAL BICYCLE ROAD RACE)

ORDER 2026The Minister responsible for works and engineering, in exercise of the power conferred by

1. section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 1947, makes the following Order:

3. “bicycle race”) on Ministry of Public Works Roads to be held on Friday, 22nd May 2026.
4. The Commissioner of Police is hereby authorized to close roads or portions of roads and

authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides in the interests of public safety. RACE ROUTE: Commencing at Somerset Road, Sandys at the junction of Cambridge Road and travel in an easterly direction along Somerset Road, easterly direction (Sandys Parish) on to Bridge Hill, on to Middle Road, easterly direction (Sandys, Southampton and Warwick Parishes) to the junction of Burnt House Hill, northerly direction (Warwick Parish), Burnt House Hill on to Harbour Road, easterly direction (Warwick and Paget Parishes), onto The Lane, northerly direction (Paget Parish), on to Crow Lane westerly direction (Paget, Devonshire, Pembroke Parishes), onto Front Street, then onto Queen Street, then Church Street heading east to King Street, then onto Victoria Street to Cedar Avenue and onto Marsh Folly Road, turning right on to Dutton Avenue to the Finish line. TRAFFIC CONTROL: The bicycle race will commence on Friday, 22nd May 2026 at 7:30am and is expected to conclude by 12:00pm. All motorists are required to use caution and to avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under the control of the police and race officials. Motorists must follow instructions from race officials to assist with traffic control for this event. No traffic will be allowed to travel in either direction during the bicycle race. ROADS CLOSED: All roads on the race route will be closed to traffic while this bicycle race takes place. All motorists must also allow cyclists to participate and give way when directed by police and race officials. PARKING: There will be no parking restrictions in place for the bicycle race, with motorists permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route.
