BERMUDA EDUCATORS COUNCIL (EXEMPTIONS) (2021 TO 2022 SCHOOL YEAR) ORDER 2021

The Minister responsible for education, in exercise of the power conferred by sections 5 and 20(3) of the Bermuda Educators Council Act 2002, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Bermuda Educators Council (Exemptions) (2021 to

2022 School Year) Order 2021.

Interpretation

2 In this Order— “the Act” means the Bermuda Educators Council Act 2002; “school year” means the 2021 to 2022 school year.

Exemption of specified persons

3 With respect to the school year, the persons whose names are set out in the first column of the Schedule—

(a) are exempt from the restriction imposed by section 4(1) of the Act; and

(b) may take up employment as an educator at a school—

(i) within the knowledge or skill specified in the second column of the

Schedule — ;

(ii) subject to the circumstance or condition set out in the third column of the Schedule.

Registration of specified persons

4 The Council shall enter the names set out in the Schedule in a separate part of the register headed “Exemptions” and, for the purposes of the Act, the persons exempted by this Order are deemed registered during the period for which they have been exempted.

Malcolm, Charea English Teacher Exempt for the school year.

Morton, Celine Art Teacher Exempt for the school year.

Omodele, Ajala Primary School Teacher Exempt for the school year.

Pearman, Jahni Art Teacher Exempt for the school year.

Simmons, Lindsey Primary 4 Teacher Exempt until 31 March 2022.

Swan, Sadeo Business Studies Teacher Exempt for the school year.

Thomas, Dezjuan Music Teacher Exempt until 30 June 2022.

Tucker Davis, Verdena ASD (Autism Spectrum Exempt for the school year. Disorder) Teacher
