BERMUDA HOSPITALS BOARD (MEDICAL AND DENTAL CHARGES) ORDER 2015

The Minister responsible for health, in exercise of the power conferred by section 13A(3) as read with section 13A(4)(b) of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Bermuda Hospitals Board (Medical and Dental Charges) Order 2015.

Interpretation

2 In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires— “specialist” means a person designated as such by the Medical Staff Committee of the Bermuda Hospitals Board; “unit” means a unit in the scale of fees determined by the Minister under section 13A(1) of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970.

Medical and dental charges

3 The fees under section 13A of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970 shall—

(a) subject to subparagraph (b), in relation to the type of practitioner listed in

Schedule 1, be calculated by reference to units, and the dollar value of each unit shall be as set out in Schedule 1;

(b) in relation to the fees that are listed in Schedule 2, be charged in accordance with the amounts set out in Schedule 2; and

(c) in relation to a dental practitioner, be charged in accordance with—

(i) the 2016 Ontario Dental Association Suggested Fee Guide for General Practitioners; and

(ii) the 2016 Ontario Dental Association Suggested Fee Guide for Certified Paediatric Dentists. [Paragraph 3(c) amended by BR 13 / 2016 para. 2 effective 1 April 2016]

Revocation of BR 29/2013

4 The Bermuda Hospitals Board (Medical and Dental Charges) Order 2013 is revoked.
