BERMUDA HOSPITALS BOARD (MEDICAL AND DENTAL CHARGES) ORDER 2018

The Minister responsible for health, in exercise of the power conferred by section 13A(3) as read with section 13A(4)(b) of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Bermuda Hospitals Board (Medical and Dental Charges) Order 2018.

Interpretation

2 In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires— “specialist”[revoked by BR 86 / 2025 para. 2] “unit” means a unit in the scale of fees determined by the Minister under section 13A(1) of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970. [Paragraph 2 definition "specialist" revoked by BR 86 / 2025 para. 2 effective 1 October 2025]

Medical and dental charges

3 The fees under section 13A of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970 shall—

(a) subject to subparagraph (b), in relation to the type of service or procedure listed in Schedule 1, be determined by reference to units, and the dollar value of each unit shall be as set out in Schedule 1;

(b) in relation to the fees that are listed in Schedule 2, be charged and reimbursed in accordance with the amounts set out in Schedule 2; and

(c) in relation to a dental practitioner, be charged and reimbursed in accordance with—

(i) the Ontario Dental Association Suggested Fee Guide for General Practitioners 2025 as revised or amended from time to time; and

(ii) the Ontario Dental Association Suggested Fee Guide for Certified Paediatric Dentists 2025 as revised or amended from time to time. [Paragraph 3(c) amended by 2024 : 19 s. 6 effective 1 October 2025; Paragraph 3 amended by BR 86 /

Revocation of BR 73/2015

4 The Bermuda Hospitals Board (Medical and Dental Charges) Order 2015 is revoked.

Commencement

5 This Order shall come into operation on 1 July 2018.
