PHARMACY AND POISONS (THIRD AND FOURTH SCHEDULE AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026

The Minister responsible for health, in exercise of the power conferred by section

48A of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act 1979, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order, which amends the Pharmacy and Poisons Act 1979 (“the principal Act”), may be cited as the Pharmacy and Poisons (Third and Fourth Schedule Amendment) Order 2026.

Amends the Third Schedule

2 The Third Schedule to the principal Act is amended—

(a) by inserting the following in their appropriate alphabetical place—

“ Abatacept Abemaciclib Abiraterone Alectinib Alogliptin Apraclonidine Avanafil Bempedoic Acid Benralizumab Benzonatate Bilastine Bosutinib

Prasugrel Ranolazine Rimegepant Risankizumab Roflumilast Ruxolitinib Sacubitril Semaglutide Silodosin Sodium Polystyrene Sulphonate Spinosad Tafluprost Tezacaftor Tirbanibulin Tirzepatide Ubrogepant Upadacitinib Vibegron Vildagliptin Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) 50,000 i.u. or above PER DOSE Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 50,000 i.u. or above PER DOSE ”;

(b) by adding the words in the right column to the drugs provided in the left column—

“ Left Column Right Column Acetylcysteine for parenteral use Bacitracin Methlylen for animal use Disalycylate Brimonidine strength of 0.1% or greater inhalation or nasal spray 64 mcg and Budesonide greater Cimetidine strength greater than 100 mg Lansoprazole strength greater than 15 mg Olopatadine opth strength of 0.2% or greater Oxymetazoline ophthalmic ”;

(c) by deleting the following—

“ Vitamin D 50,000 units and above Vitamin D above 50,000 I.U per dosage unit Crotamiton

Levocetirizine Loperamide Naphazoline ”.

Amends Part I of the Fourth Schedule

3 Part I of the Fourth Schedule to the principal Act is amended—

(a) by inserting the following in their appropriate alphabetical place—

“ Acetylcysteine for oral, mist, or inhaled preparations Acrivastine Acyclovir topical use, ms 5% Bacillus Clausii probiotic Bacitracin topical only, not ophthalmic Bilastine Bisacodyl Brimonidine strength less than 0.1% Capsaicin topical Cetirizine ms 100 mg per unit Cimetidine Econazole topical only Hydrocortisone topical only ms 1% Ketoconazole topical only Levocetirizine Loperamide ms 2 mg adult tablet only Mebendazole Minoxidil topical use ms 5% N-Acetylcysteine for oral, mist, or inhaled preparations Neomycin topical only, not ophthalmic Polymixin topical only, not ophthalmic Sodium Hyaluronate ophthalmic preparations only ”;

(b) by adding the words in the right column to the drugs in the Act provided in the left column—

“ Left Column Right Column if in preparations for topical use ms Benzocaine 20%, for oral use ms 10% (not for ophthalmic use, not for children) Phenol for all non-parenteral medicinal use ”;

(c) by deleting the following—

“ Minoxidil topical use ms 2% ”.

Amends Part II of the Fourth Schedule

4 Part II of the Fourth Schedule to the principal Act is amended—

(a) by inserting the following in their appropriate alphabetical place—

“ Amorolfine topical max 5% Azelastine nasal spray max 0.1% / opth max 0.05% Fluconazole 150mg as single dose only Naloxone nasal spray only ms 4mg/spray Olopatadine ophthalmic ms 0.1% Ulipristal one dose ms 30 mg ”;

(b) by adding the words in the right column to the drugs provided in the left column—

“ Left Column Right Column Bacitracin ophthalmic Clotrimazole for vaginal use Econazole for vaginal use Isoconazole for vaginal use Itraconazole for vaginal use Ketoconazole for vaginal use Miconazole for vaginal use Nicotine in liquid form for inhalation via any electronic delivery system with ms 21 mg (2.1%) only in mint or unflavored liquid oral preparations ms 4 mg per dose only mint or unflavored oral preparations Polymixin ophthalmic ”;

(c) by deleting the following—

“ Fluconazole ms 150mg and mdd 150mg Hydrocortisone Mebendazole Minoxidil in topical preparations with ms 2% Minoxidil for topical use ms 5% Nicotine if in oral preparations and md 2mg Nicotine in liquid form for inhalation via any electronic delivery system with ms 21 mg ”.
