CITY OF HAMILTON PLAN (APPROVAL) NOTICE 2016

Whereas the Minister of the Environment (“the Minister”) has caused a draft development plan entitled “The City of Hamilton Plan 2015” to be prepared which causes the City of Hamilton Plan 2001 to cease to have effect, except with respect to the North East Hamilton area; And whereas the draft City of Hamilton Plan 2015 was declared operative on 26 June 2015; And whereas objections and representations in respect of the draft City of Hamilton Plan 2015 have been invited by the Minister and determined by the Objections Tribunal duly appointed for that purpose; And whereas the Minister upon due consideration by him of the report of the Tribunal deems it expedient to exercise in relation to the draft City of Hamilton Plan 2015 the powers conferred upon him by section 11(9) of the Development and Planning Act 1974; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 11(9) of the Development and Planning Act 1974, the Minister gives the following Notice:

1 This Notice may be cited as the City of Hamilton Plan (Approval) Notice 2016.

Approval of the City of Hamilton Plan 2015

2 The City of Hamilton Plan 2015 has been approved by resolution of the House of Assembly on 8 July 2016 and the Senate on 20 July 2016 pursuant to the provisions of section 11(8) of the Development and Planning Act 1974 and shall become operative on 8 August 2016 pursuant to section 11(10) of the Development and Planning Act 1974.

Inspection of plan

3 Copies of the City of Hamilton Plan 2015 may be inspected free of charge at the Department of Planning, 5th Floor, Dame Lois Browne-Evans Building, 58 Court Street, Hamilton, during office hours as of 8 August 2016.
