The Minister responsible for marine and ports services, in exercise of the power conferred by section 12(1)(b) of the Marine and Ports Services Act 2021, issues the following Notice:

Citation

1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine and Ports Services (Mariners) (Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo Fireworks Display) Notice 2026.

Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo Fireworks Display

2 A Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo fireworks display (“the event”) will take place within Harrington Sound on Tuesday 20 January 2026 from 9:00 p.m. and 9:03 p.m.

Closure of certain sections of Harrington Sound

3 The area of water of Harrington Sound (indicated in the Schedule), from the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, north out to approximately 100 feet will be closed to marine traffic during the event.

Patrol of area

4 During the event, the area of water referred to in paragraph 3 will be patrolled by the Royal Bermuda Regiment coast guard unit and all mariners, pilots and boatmen are required to keep clear of and exercise caution when approaching or navigating the waters of Harrington Sound.

Offence

5 It is an offence under section 12(5) of the Marine and Ports Services Act 2021 for a mariner, pilot or boatman to fail to observe the requirements of this Notice, punishable on summary conviction in accordance with section 84 of that Act.
