CUSTOMS DUTY (BERMUDA ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY - ENDURANCE)

BR 27 / 2009

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Bermuda Zoological Society - Endurance) Remission Order 2009.

Interpretation

2 In this Order “exempted goods” means—

(a) the vessel known as “Endurance”; and

(b) any equipment, fittings, fixtures and replacement parts for use in the maintenance or refitting of the vessel known as the “Endurance”.

Exemption from import duty

3 The Bermuda Zoological Society and its agents are exempted from the payment of import duty on the exempted goods prescribed under paragraph 2 that are imported by them into Bermuda.

Exemption from import duty at expiration of this Order

4 At the expiration of this Order, exempted goods which have been imported free of import duty into Bermuda by virtue of paragraph 3 shall not be liable to import duty by reason only that this Order has ceased to have effect.

Commencement and expiration

5 This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 April 2008 and shall expire on 31 March 2018. [Paragraph 5 amended by BR 13 / 2013 para. 2 effective 22 March 2013]
