CUSTOMS DUTY (ETTRICK ANIMAL HOSPITAL) REMISSION ORDER 2010

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the following Order:
Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Ettrick Animal Hospital) Remission Order 2010.
Interpretation
2 In this Order— “qualifying item” means any building material, furnishing, fixture or equipment (excluding construction equipment) for—
(a) the renovation and refurbishment of the existing animal hospital at 79 Middle Road, Warwick; and
(b) a new hospital facility at 79 Middle Road, Warwick, next to the existing animal hospital.
3. Partial exemption from import duty
(1) The Ettrick Animal Hospital and its agents are partially exempted from the payment of import duty on any qualifying item imported by them into Bermuda.
(2) In subparagraph (1), “partially exempted” means exempted from that portion of the import duty that may be payable under the Customs Tariff Act 1970 at a rate of more than 10% of the value of the particular item.

Partial exemption at expiration of this Order
4 At the expiration of this Order, any qualifying item imported into Bermuda which has been partially exempted from import duty under paragraph 3 shall not be subject to import duty by reason only that this Order has ceased to have effect.
Commencement and expiration
5 This Order comes into operation on 1 April 2010 and expires on 31 March 2016. [Paragraph 5 amended by BR 13 / 2012 para 4 effective 23 March 2012; amended by BR 24 / 2014 para 3 effective 18 March 2014]
