CUSTOMS DUTY (ETTRICK ANIMAL HOSPITAL) REMISSION ORDER 2019

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the following Order:
Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Ettrick Animal Hospital) Remission Order 2019.
Interpretation
2 In this Order— “exempted goods” means building materials, furnishings, fixtures, fittings and equipment (excluding construction equipment) imported for use in the undertaking; “undertaking” means the construction of a new addition to and renovations of the Ettrick Animal Hospital at 75 Middle Road, Warwick;
Exempted person
3 Ettrick Animal Hospital and its agents are an exempted person for the purposes of this Order and for the purposes of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951.
4. Partial exemption from import duty
(1) Ettrick Animal Hospital and its agents are partially exempted from the payment of import duty charged on the exempted goods, provided that such goods are intended to be used or imported in connection with the undertaking.
(2) In paragraph (1), “partially exempted” means exempted from that portion of the import duty that exceeds 90% of the value of the exempted goods.

Conditions
5 Exempted goods must only be used in connection with the operation of the undertaking.
6. Commencement and expiration
(1) This Order is deemed to have come into operation on 1 October 2019 and will expire on 30 September 2022.
(2) At the expiration of this Order, the qualifying goods that were imported with the benefit of the duty exemption shall not be subject to import duty by reason only that this Order ceases to have effect.
