CUSTOMS DUTY (FIREMINDS OPERATIONS LIMITED)
BR 76 / 2019
The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the following Order:
Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (Fireminds Operations Limited) Remission Order 2019.
Interpretation
2 In this Order— “Agent” means a person who, on behalf of Fireminds Operations Limited, imports exempted goods into Bermuda for the purposes of the undertaking; “exempted goods” means electronic communications equipment, apparatus and machinery imported for the purposes of the undertaking; “undertaking” means the upgrade of the data centre and cloud computing system operated by Fireminds Operations Limited.
Exempted person
3 Fireminds Operations Limited is an exempted person for the purposes of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951.
Exemption from payment of import duty
4 Fireminds Operations Limited and its Agents are granted complete exemption from the payment of import duty that would otherwise be payable under section 2 of the Customs
CUSTOMS DUTY (FIREMINDS OPERATIONS LIMITED) REMISSION ORDER
Tariff Act 1970, provided that such goods are intended to be used in connection with the undertaking.
5. Commencement and expiration
(1) This Order is deemed to have come into operation on 28 May 2018.
(2) This Order expires on 27 May 2023.
(3) At the expiration of this Order, the exempted goods shall not be subject to import duty by reason only that this Order has ceased to have effect.
