CUSTOMS DUTY (NCL (BAHAMAS) LTD.) REMISSION ORDER 2017

BR 42 / 2017

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Customs Duty (NCL (Bahamas) Ltd.) Remission Order 2017.

Interpretation

2 In this Order— “goods” means—

(a) vessels, their engines, systems, parts, furnishings, fixtures, fittings and ancillary equipment; and

(b) diesel fuel and lubricants, which have been imported for the purposes of the undertaking; “undertaking” means the operation of two tender vessels by NCL (Bahamas) Ltd.

Exempted person

3 NCL (Bahamas) Ltd. is an exempted person for the purposes of the Customs Duty (Special Remission) Act 1951.

Exemption from import duty

4 NCL (Bahamas) Ltd. is granted complete exemption from the payment of import duty on the goods, which duty would otherwise be payable under the Customs Tariff Act

1970.

CUSTOMS DUTY (NCL (BAHAMAS) LTD.) REMISSION ORDER 2017

5. Commencement and expiration

(1) This Order comes into operation on 1 April 2017 and expires on 31 December

2028.

(2) Goods that have been exempted from import duty by virtue of this Order shall not be subject to import duty by reason only that this Order has expired. [Paragraph 5(1) amended by BR 138 / 2022 para. 2 effective 16 December 2022]
