COURT FEES AND EXPENSES AMENDMENT RULES 2025

The Chief Justice, in exercise of the power conferred by section 3 of the Court Fees and Expenses Act 1971, makes the following Rules:

Citation

1 These Rules may be cited as the Court Fees and Expenses Amendment Rules

2025.

Amends the Second Schedule

2 The Second Schedule of the Court Fees and Expenses Rules 1972 is amended under item 2. Magistrates Act 1948 —

(a) by deleting the words “$100.00” and substituting the words “$200.00” in the line that corresponds to the “Attendance of Chairman of Special Court (if not a Magistrate)”; and

(b) by deleting the words “$50.00” and substituting the words “$150.00” in the line that corresponds to the “Attendance of Members of Special Court.

Commencement

3 These Rules come into operation on 1 January 2026.
