FIRE SERVICES (RATES FOR SPECIAL DUTIES) REGULATIONS 1987

[made under sections 15 and 17 of the Fire Services Act 1982 [title 10 item 15] and brought into operation on 20 November 1987]

Citation

1 These regulations may be cited as the Fire Services (Rates for Special Duties) Regulations 1987.

Rates

2 The rates payable to the Chief Fire Officer for the services of any fire officer detailed to do special duty in or upon or about any premises, vessel, vehicle or aircraft specified by the applicant and for the use of equipment furnished by the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service shall be the rates specified in the Schedule to these regulations. SCHEDULE (Reg. 2) Rates for special duties and use of equipment

1 Turnout Rate

(a) Heavy appliance $200.00

(b) Medium appliance $150.00

(c) Light appliance $100.00

2 Pumping or Operating Rate

(a) Heavy appliance $100.00 per hour or part thereof

(b) Medium appliance $ 80.00 per hour or part thereof

(c) Light appliance $ 50.00 per hour or part thereof

3 Stand-by Rate

(a) Heavy appliance $ 50.00 per hour or part thereof

(b) Medium appliance $ 40.00 per hour or part thereof

(c) Light appliance $ 25.00 per hour or part thereof

4 Hiring of equipment

(a) Extinguisher $ 20.00 per day or part thereof

(b) Hose $ 10.00 per day or part thereof

(c) Salvage covers $ 20.00 per day or part thereof

(d) Recharging extinguisher The actual cost therefor

5 Rates payable in respect of fire officers

(a) Full-time fire officers Double time (calculated in accordance with the current Fire Services pay scales by rank and grade of the officer concerned) plus a

15 per centum administrative charge.

(b) Volunteer Firemen $17.00 per hour or part thereof

(c) Full-time fire officers and volunteer Rates shall be firemen in respect of special duties calculated as in (a) involving, in the opinion of the and (b) above in Chief Fire Officer, hazardous respect of the conditions and exceptional officers concerned circumstances. plus $5.00 per hour or part thereof.
