FISHERIES (LOBSTER) REGULATIONS 2020

The Minister responsible for fisheries, in exercise of the power conferred by section 13(1)(c) of the Fisheries Act 1972, makes the following Regulations:
Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (Lobster) Regulations 2020.
Extension of time to sell, purchase and possess spiny lobsters
2 Subject to regulation 3, for the avoidance of doubt and for the purpose of the lobster season ending on 31 March 2020, a person may continue to sell, purchase and possess spiny lobsters (Panulirus argus) until 30 April 2020.
3. Prohibition against taking or selling spiny lobsters
(1) The extension of time provided in regulation 2 does not apply to the taking of spiny lobsters.
(2) A person who is licensed to take lobsters under regulation 16(3) of the Fisheries Regulations 2010, shall not sell any lobster in his possession as required under regulation 16(4)(b) of the said Regulations.
Offence
4 Any person who contravenes these Regulations commits an offence under section 13(3) of the Fisheries Act 1972.
