In exercise of the powers conferred on the Governor in the definition of "governor" appearing in section 24(1) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (as modified, adapted and extended to Bermuda by the Environment Protection (Overseas Territories) Order 1988 (S.I. 1988/1084 U.K.)[title 20 item 16] ), the following Order is hereby made:—

1 This Order may be cited as the Food and Environment Protection (Designated Person) Order 1989.
Person designated
2 It is hereby ordered that the Minister charged with responsibility for the environment is the person designated to perform the Governor's functions under Parts II and IV of, and Schedule to, the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (as modified, adapted and extended to Bermuda by the Environment Protection (Overseas Territories) Order 1988) [title 20 item 16] except the Governor's function mentioned in the definition of the expression "fisheries zone of the Territory" appearing in section 24(1) of the said Act.
