LAND TITLE REGISTRATION (PHASED INTRODUCTION OF THE REQUIREMENT OF REGISTRATION) NOTICE 2018

The Land Title Registrar, in exercise of the power conferred by paragraph 2 of

Schedule 3 to the Land Title Registration Act 2011, gives the following Notice:

Citation

1 This Notice may be cited as the Land Title Registration (Phased Introduction of the Requirement of Registration) Notice 2018.

Interpretation

2 In this Notice— “the Act” means the Land Title Registration Act 2011; “the registrar” means the Land Title Registrar appointed under section 4(2) of the Act.

3. Phased introduction of the requirement of registration

(1) The requirement of registration under section 24 (compulsory registration) of the Act only applies on the occurrence of an event that falls within subsection (1)(a)(i), (1)

(a)(iii), (1)(b)(i), (1)(b)(ii), (1)(b)(iii) or (1)(d) of that section.

(2) Where the requirement of registration applies under subparagraph (1), application to the registrar to be registered as the owner of the estate shall be lodged with the registrar on the applicant’s behalf by an attorney acting for him.

Commencement

4 This Notice shall come into operation on 27 August 2018.
