LAND VALUATION (REORGANIZATION) ACT 2002 [Date of Assent: 10 July 2002] [Operative Date: 10 July 2002]

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Land Valuation And Tax Act 1967 and other statutory provisions to effect a change in the title of the Land Valuation Officer. Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:⎯

Citation

1 This Act may be cited as the Land Valuation (Reorganization) Act

2002.

Amendment of the Land Valuation and Tax Act 1967

2 The Land Valuation Act 1967 is amended ⎯

(a) in section 1(1) by inserting in the appropriate alphabetical place the following — ""the Director" means the Director of Land Valuation appointed under section 2;";

(b) by deleting the words 'Land Valuation Officer" or "Land Valuation Officer's" where they occur in sections 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32, 34, 40, 60, 61, 63, 64, 66 and 71 and in the headings to sections 2, 17, 18, 60 and 71 and

substituting the word "Director" or "Director's" as the case may be.

Amendment of the Land Valuation and Tax (Objections and Appeals) Rules 1967

3 The Land Valuation and Tax (Objections and Appeals) Rules

1967 are amended in the definition of "the Land Valuation Officer" in Rule 1 by deleting the words "Land Valuation Officer" where they twice occur and substituting the word "Director".

Amendment of the Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Act 1978

4 The Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Act 1978 is amended in section 32(1) by deleting the words "Land Valuation Officer" and substituting the words "Director of Land Valuation".

Amendment of the Private Roads (Improvement) Act 1969

5 The Private Roads (Improvement) Act 1969 is amended in the

Schedule in paragraphs (c) and (d) of the definition of "annual rental value" by deleting the words "Land Valuation Officer" and substituting the words "Director of Land Valuation".
