ACQUISITION OF LAND REGULATIONS 1956

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Acquisition of Land Regulations 1956.
Interpretation
2 In these Regulations— "the Act" means the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act
1956 [title 5 item 16]; "Commonwealth citizen" and "alien" have the meanings respectively assigned thereto in section 3 of the Act; and "land," "licence", "restricted person" and "specially restricted child of an alien" have the meanings respectively assigned thereto in section 72 of the Act.

Applications
3 Applications to the Governor, under section 83 of the Act, for the grant of a licence to acquire land in Bermuda shall:
(a) in the case of a Commonwealth citizen who is a restricted person, be in the form set out in the First
Schedule; and
(b) in the case of an alien, or the specially restricted child of an alien, be in the form set out in the Second Schedule, and shall be accompanied by the fee prescribed in the Regulations made under the Government Fees Act 1965 [title 15 item 18]; and
(c) in any other case, be in the form set out in the Third
Schedule, and shall where the beneficiary or any of them is an alien be accompanied by the fee prescribed in the Regulations made under the Government Fees Act 1965 [title 15 item 18] as if the application had been made by an alien, and shall be forwarded to the Secretary to the Cabinet verified in the case of an application by an alien or the specially restricted child of an alien, by affidavit.

APPLICATION BY A RESTRICTED PERSON WHO IS A COMMONWEALTH CITIZEN FOR THE GRANT OF A LICENCE TO ACQUIRE LAND

(1) (a) In the case of land sought to be acquired by deed:

(ii) the purchase price; or
(b) In the case of land acquired by devise or inheritance, the name and the last permanent address of the deceased testator or intestate.
Declaration I declare that to the best of my knowledge and belief the particulars contained in this application are true. I forward herewith a certified true copy of the Trust Instrument and I undertake to submit a further application in respect of any beneficiary who subsequently becomes entitled to any benefit under, or share of the proceeds of, the trust as set out in the Trust Instrument.
