BERMUDA STATUTORY INSTRUMENT
BR 3/1992
MARINE BOARD (REPORT OF ENTRY INTO AREA TO BE AVOIDED) NOTICE 1992 [made by the Minister of Transport under section 10 of the Marine Board Act 1962 [title 22 item 3] and brought into operation on 3 February 1992]
The Minister in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 10(1) of the Marine Board Act 1962 [title 22 item 3], hereby makes the following NoticeāÆ
1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Report of Entry into Area To Be Avoided) Notice 1992.
2 All vessels entering the "Area To Be Avoided" promulgated in Notice to Mariners No. 2959 (P)85 effective 1 December 1985 and shown on Bermuda charts 360 and 334 are required to communicate with Bermuda Harbour Radio on V.H.F. channel 16 giving the following information:
(a) Name of ship or vessel
(b) Flag state
(c) Where bound
(d) Position
(e) Course
(f) Speed
(g) Hazardous Cargo

(h) Draught
(i) Limitation of manoeuverability
3 Mariners are reminded of the extremely hazardous reefline surrounding Bermuda which extends 8n.m to the North and North West and the need to navigate with extreme caution when approaching the island.
4 The only safe approach to the island is from the South East, perferably [sic] in daylight.
